Alex is a singer/songwriter and occasional lead singer of the matchless rock outfit The Roman Spring (his words). He's toured with Maroon 5 on their way to super-stardom and played shows with the likes of John Mayer, Brandi Carlile, Jet, Gavin Degraw, Evan Dando, Train, Howard Jones, X, Michelle Branch, Sara Bareilles, Third Eye Blind, Cracker and Natasha Bedingfield to name(drop) a few... With the band "Colourslide" Alex had the privilege to grace the (back) cover of Billboard, be named by Gretsch guitars as the best unsigned band in the country (or world maybe) and take home Song of The Year in the John Lennon Songwriting contest. He has also been fortunate enough to work with some of the best producers and mixers in the business (see below) and his music has also earned many national television spots on ESPN, MTV, ABC Family, E!, FOX and OXYGEN.
The Roman Spring released their debut EP in 2020 (good timing). The EP was recorded in Durham, NC with Ryan Pickett (My Morning Jacket, Chatham County Line) and John Plymale (Superchunk).
In 2023, Alex teamed up with some of North Carolina's most prominent musicians to collaborate on a extensive tribute to the music of R.E.M. Since debuting at Motorco Music Hall in Durham, the show has traveled to the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, Visulite Theatre In Charlotte and the Cat's Cradle in Carborro.
Additionally, in October of 2023 Alex became a permanent member or George Huntley's (The Connells) newly formed live band.
